Grand Port Maritime de Marseille signs MoU with JNPA, promoting LNG, hydrogen and low-carbon bunkering

The Grand Port Maritime de Marseille Fos signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, one of India's largest container ports, announces the Indian port authority on LinkedIn on 18/02/2026.

The partnership aims to "enhance bilateral trade and maritime flows between India and Europe, while fostering joint initiatives in port innovation, digitalisation, energy transition and operational skills", declares JNPA. The MoU establishes a framework for dialogue, coordination and long-term cooperation between the two port authorities, in line with the structuring of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), launched during G20 in New Delhi in 2023.

One of the dimensions of the agreement concerns green port operations and alternative fuels. The MoU enables technical exchanges and capacity building in key areas, including port digitalisation, smart port platforms and data interoperability, but also "green operations such as alternative fuels (LNG and hydrogen), Onshore Power Supply (OPS), and low-carbon bunkering."
