FR / Igedd: Bertrand Galtier appointed coordinator of the General Inspectorate of Overseas Territories

Bertrand Galtier has been appointed co-ordinator of the Overseas Territorial Inspectorate of the General Inspectorate for the Environment and Sustainable Development (Igedd), by order of 09/02/2026, published in the Journal Officiel of 14/02.

He succeeds Didier Kruger, who held this post between 15/02/2021 and 02/07/2024, and has since become Government Commissioner for the Grand Port Maritime de La Réunion.

Bertrand Galtier is a graduate of the École polytechnique and the ENSG-Géomatique (now Géodata Paris), and holds a DEA in ecology from the Orsay Faculty of Science (now part of the Université Paris-Saclay).

Between 2020 and 2022, he was deputy director of the cabinet of Bérangère Abba, then Secretary of State for Biodiversity. A member of the Conseil général de l'environnement et du développement durable (General Council for the Environment and Sustainable Development), he became vice-chairman of the Comité national de la biodiversité (National Biodiversity Committee) in 2022.
