FR: "It is time to restore visibility and to reaffirm path towards energy sovereignty" (Open letter)

"We, business leaders, economic leaders and investors, reaffirm the urgent need to get out of the doldrums, to give ourselves back the visibility we need to support the investments that are essential to our future, and to reaffirm the path to energy sovereignty for our continent", write 12 French federations from the energy sector, supported by 100 French business leaders, in an opinion piece published in the French daily Les Echos on 09/02/2026.

The signatories of the text are calling for publication of the PPE 3 decree based on four priorities:

● "Accelerate the development of strategic industrial sectors for our sovereignty, via public and private investment, in particular by allowing European preference, in order to reduce dependence on non-European value chains, in particular the production of batteries, renewable and low-carbon hydrogen, storage systems, solutions for the production and consumption of electrical energy and renewable molecules, as well as the recycling and reuse of rare metals ;
