Solar: two PPAs for 1 GW of solar power between TotalEnergies and Google in the United States

TotalEnergies will supply 1 GW of solar power to Google's data centres in the United States under two PPAs, as announced by the French energy company on 09/02/2026. The contract will run for 15 years. This is the largest volume of electricity awarded under a PPA by TotalEnergies in the United States, according to the company.

The electricity will come from two solar farms, Wichita, with a capacity of 805 MWp, and Mustang Creek, with a capacity of 195 MWp, located in Texas. Both facilities are currently under development and construction is scheduled to start operations in the second half of 2026. The projects represent a total of 28 TWh of electricity over the life of the contract.

TotalEnergies detains 10 GW of gross capacity of solar, wind and battery storage assets in operation in the United States.

"These PPAs come on top of the 1.2 GW recently signed by Clearway, a California-based renewable project developer 50% owned by TotalEnergies, to power Google's data centers in the Ercot (Texas), PJM (Northeast) and SPP (Central) regional electricity markets," TotalEnergies said.
