During the week to come, European Ministers for the Environment will gather in Cyprus (Lefkosia) for an informal Council, on 05 and 06/02/2026: they will take stock of the COP 30 results, and assess the Cyprus Presidency's priorities for Climate: the Water Resilience Strategy and the Climate Adaptation needs. The two European Commissioners for Environment and Climate, Jessika Roswall and Woepke Hokstra, will also take part in the meeting.

From Monday to Friday, the first Plenary of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Panel on Chemicals, Waste and Pollution will be hosted in Geneva (Switzerland) while "Europe's largest civil lawsuit against PFAS" will begin on Monday in Lyon (France). From Tuesday until the 08/02, the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) will gather in Manchester (UK) for its plenary session and release its business and biodiversity assessment.
