Jonathan Cole named global ambassador of the Global Wind Energy Council

Jonathan Cole has been named global ambassador of the Global Wind Energy Council "to support its advocacy for accelerating wind energy deployment worldwide", announced the wind energy sector's representative organisation on 27/01/2026.

Cole has been Chair of the GWEC for two years, from 2023 to 2025. Previously, he spent almost three years as the CEO of Corio Generation (which he founded), a Global Offshore Wind Developer based in London (UK) and also spent fourteen years as CEO of Iberdrola Renewables, from 2007 to 2022.

His role as a global ambassador will be to serve as a high-level representative for the wind sector at major international climate and energy forums.
