Floating wind: "We are creating an industrial sector and 1,300 jobs" (Paul de la Guérivière, BW Ideol)

"The launch of the floating wind energy sector is not just about producing renewable energy, it is also about creating an industrial sector in France with the establishment of our plant in Fos-sur-Mer, which will create 1,300 jobs," Paul de la Guérivière, Chairman and CEO of BW Ideol, told News Tank on 28/01/2026.

" Floating offshore wind in the Mediterranean has demonstrated its price competitiveness with the results of the AO6 (6^th national tender for offshore wind power). The first pilot projects are up and running. Consultation on existing projects shows that we are succeeding in identifying favourable zones while taking into account the constraints of other users. We can launch this new industry, building on what has been achieved with the three pilot projects. A virtuous circle will then emerge."
