Electricity: contract between TotalEnergies and paper manufacturer SWM to supply 800 GWh over 10 years

TotalEnergies will supply 800 GWh of renewable electricity to paper manufacturer SWM over a 10-year period, until 2036, the French energy group announced on 27/01/2026.

The two companies have signed a contract for the supply of renewable electricity with a constant delivery profile, a solution known as “Clean Firm Power”, for SWM’s three sites in France (Papeteries de Saint Girons, PDM Industries and LTR Industries).The electricity will be produced by TotalEnergies from around 50 MW of existing renewable generation assets located in France.

The agreement will allow SWM to cover around half of its electricity consumption in France over the next ten years. “For an electro-intensive industry like ours, this is not just an environmental breakthrough; it is a strategic investment that provides us with greater cost predictability and strengthens our ability to offer our customers truly sustainable solutions,” said Giuliano Scilio, Vice President and Chief Information Officer at SWM.
