Acer: Bogdan Chirițoiu appointed Chairman of the Board; Tomasz Dąbrowski, Vice-Chairman

Bogdan Chirițoiu has been appointed Chairman of the Administrative Board of the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (Acer), announced the agency on 22/01/2026. He succeeds Edit Herczog, who occupied this role since 2024.

Bogdan Chirițoiu, who has been Chairman of the Romanian Competition Council since 2009, has also been Vice-Chairman of Acer since January 2024.

The Agency also announces the appointment of Tomasz Dąbrowski as Vice-Chairman. Already a member of Acer's Board, he heads the legal department of Zarządca Rozliczeń S.A., the public agency responsible for making payments under state aid schemes for the electricity sector in Poland.

Their new positions will take effect on 22/01/2026 for a period of two years, renewable once.

Other changes have been announced on the Board:
• the departure of Jurij Spiridonovs and his alternate Britta Thomsen from the Board, and the end of the term of office of alternate Attila Nyikos;
