Simon Bergulf appointed Vice-President Environment and Climate of the World Shipping Council

Simon Bergulf has been appointed Vice-President of Environment and Climate of the World Shipping Council and manager of the WSC's Brussels Office, announced the organisation on 21/01/2026. He will take his functions from March 2026, succeeding Bryan Wood-Thomas, who filled the role since 2008. His work will focus on decarbonising shipping, environmental stewardship and the protection of marine life.

M. Bergulf is currently the representative for Europe at Maersk, which he joined in 2017, focusing on climate and environmental policies. In parallel, he was Chairman of the World Shipping Council Environment and Climate Council from 2021 to 2023 and a Member of the European Sustainable Shipping Forum from 2019 to 2023. From 2009 to 2017, he worked for Danske Rederier (Danish Shipping) and occupied the role of Director of EU affairs for two years.
