FR / Ministry for Ecological Transition: Antoine Caron appointed Head of the Natural Hazards Department

Antoine Caron has been appointed Head of the Natural Hazards Department in the Directorate-General for Risk Prevention at the French Ministry for ecological transition, biodiversity and international negotiations on climate and nature. This is indicated in a decree dated 08/01/2026 and published in the French Official Journal on 10/01.

He will take up his post on 01/02/2026, for a period of three years.

A graduate from Polytechnique and Ponts et Chaussées, Antoine Caron joined the Directorate-General for Energy and Climate in 2012 as deputy head of the electricity production office, then as acting head of the electricity markets office, and finally as head of the external affairs office in the nuclear industry sub-directorate.

In 2021, he joined the Housing, Urban Planning and Landscapes Department as deputy to the deputy director and then deputy director for quality and sustainable development in construction.
