V. Group: acquisition of Njord, maritime fuel efficiency and decarbonisation partner

The marine services provider V. Group acquired its maritime fuel efficiency and decarbonisation partner Njord, primarily founded in 2019 by Maersk Tankers, Cargill, and Mitsui, before becoming a Maersk Tankers' branch, announced the company on 06/01/2026.

This acquisition "marks a further expansion of V.’s fuel efficiency and decarbonisation ecosystem of technical expertise, experience and innovative technology".

Thanks to this operation, Njord will become "the primary decarbonisation brand in the V. Group portfolio". Njord will continue to operate under its own brand and Frederik Pind, will keep his position of Managing Director.

V. Group added that "the overall combined offering will provide shipowners and operators with enhanced technical capabilities for navigating the transition to cleaner and efficient operations, leveraging both companies’ established market positions. Njord will integrate closely with V.’s wider marine services platform to create a connected, end-to-end decarbonisation and efficiency offering."
