Green bond issuance by corporates and governments in EU Member States between 2014 and 2024
Green bond issuance delivered by corporates and governments has been aggregated by the European Environment Agency (EEA) for all EU Member States. Green bonds are financial lending instruments aimed at financing projects, activities, and sectors with environmental and climate objectives.
The indicator used by EEA measures the percentage of green bonds earmarked for green projects as a share of all bonds issued by corporates and governments in EU Member States. It is calculated on a yearly basis and only takes into account sovereign bonds issued by governments with a maturity of more than one year.
This dataset will be updated each year by News Tank.
