Renewable heat: Newheat Latam created by Newheat and Sunmark Chile

Newheat Latam is the name of the joint venture intended to develop large-scale renewable heat supply solutions in Latin America, and more specifically in Chile, created by Newheat and Sunmark Chile, a thermal energy player in Chile, the two entities announced on 11/12/2025.

"Sunmark, which has become Newheat Latam, brings its in-depth knowledge of the Chilean and South American market, as well as its experience of local regulations and technical specifications", says Newheat.

Newheat Latam's objective is to contribute to the decarbonisation of the copper mining sector in Latin America. In fact, "in copper mining, leaching and electrolytic extraction, as well as heating the piles to leach the primary sulphides, require large quantities of heat at low and medium temperatures (less than 100°)", says Newheat. Solar thermal energy can decarbonise this need.
