Cristal Union: launch of Cristal Vision Zero Footprint, a personalised decarbonisation tool for farmers

The French sugar producer Cristal Union has launched a new tool called Cristal Vision Zero Footprint, a decarbonisation initiative aimed at its 9,000 farmer-members, the cooperative announced on 10/12/2025.

The system has been developed with MyEasyFarm, a French software company specialised in MRV platforms. It provides farmers with guidance on their practices based on a personalised calculation of their greenhouse gas emissions.

"We are the only company in Europe to involve 100% of our members in a decarbonisation programme. MyEasyFarm has developed a unique, intuitive tool that enables us to collect a large amount of data from our members. This data enables us to generate a carbon diagnosis, but above all, an emissions diagnosis per tonne of beet", says Thomas Fleiter, head of decarbonisation at Cristal Union.

Cristal Union pays for the diagnosis, which enables the cooperative to avoid generic national data. The scheme includes a low-carbon bonus paid from 2025 for members applying decarbonisation practices: 0.50 €/t of beet at 16° (16% of sugar / tonne) when average annual…
