UK: Simon Roddy appointed as CEO of Great Britain Energy-Nuclear

Simon Roddy has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Great Britain Energy - Nuclear, announced the public agency on 08/12/2025. Simon Roddy was previously Senior Vice-President Upstream for Shell UK, where he played a pivotal role in the North Sea's energy transition.
An engineer by training, with a Master's degree in Physics (University of Bristol), Simon Roddy began his career as a petroleum engineer for Shell in 1993.
"I am delighted to welcome Simon to GBE-N at such a pivotal moment for the UK’s nuclear energy future. His leadership and experience will be invaluable as we deliver the first SMR project at Wylfa and help realise the Government’s new nuclear ambitions", declared Simon Bowen, GBE-N chair.
Simon will officially assume his role as CEO on 02/03/26.
