EMLyon: launch of the Alternative Futures Institute with Carbone 4 and the Institut Mérieux

EMLyon is launching the Alternative Futures Institute to "support the development of corporate strategies that are compatible with planetary boundaries", the school announced on 04/12/2025. It aims also to "structure a permanent dialogue between researchers, managers and public decision-makers" on the subject.

This Institute will be based on the EMLyon / Carbone 4 teaching and research chair "Strategy in the Anthropocene", which develops frameworks for strategic thinking and action in the face of planetary boundaries. The Institute will be led by Thomas Gauthier, a professor at EMLyon, with IF Initiative by Carbone 4.
