Principle Power : João Amaral appointed CEO

João Amaral has been appointed CEO of Principle Power, the floating wind tech firm announced on 02/12/2025. He succeeds Julian Arrilaga Costa, who has held the position since October 2021 and will remain in an advisory capacity until the end of 2025.

João Amaral was previously Group Chief Technology Officer of the French independent power producer Voltalia, a position he held since 2018. In this role, he led the company's global technology strategy for wind, solar, hydro, storage, and biomass projects. He was also Director of Voltalia Portugal.

'João Amaral brings a proven track record in growth, technology and industrialisation that aligns with Principle Power’s ambition to keep making floating offshore wind a reality for the energy transition', said Bautista Rodriguez, Chairman of the floating wind technology company.
