EC: a €14.5m "Skills Guarantee" pilot project & call for proposals to support workers in transition

"The European Commission has launched a skills guarantee pilot project with a budget of €14.5 M, which will be attributed to the winners of the call for proposals linked to the project. It will focus on retraining and upskilling of workers in the automotive industry and its supply chain, who are exposed to the risk of unemployment", said the European institution on 27/11/2025.

This is a "skills guarantee to help workers in transition to acquire new skills in strategic sectors", according to the Commission.

" This pilot project will test how to accelerate and improve the transition of workers in these strategic sectors to jobs in companies in strategic growth or emerging sectors, by offering targeted professional development and retraining programmes."

" The pilot project will help workers to undertake on-the-job training and acquire new skills, while companies in sectors where demand is increasing will be able to recruit the talent they need more quickly, helping them to be competitive. "
