Carbon metrics / ESG reporting: acquisition of French start-up Sami by Swiss group SGS

SGS, the Swiss testing, inspection and certification company, has acquired a majority stake in Samu, a French start-up founded in 2020, operating in France and the UK, with offices in Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lyon and London, announced the companies on 21/11/2025.

The French start-up, which employs 45 persons, offers an all-in-one climate change and carbon accounting platform which helps companies measure, report and reduce their carbon footprint and wider environmental, social, governance and corporate sustainability metrics. Already trusted by over 1,500 corporate clients, Sami’s carbon management solutions are the most widely used in France and are now ready to be scaled up across Europe. The company also offers expert services in GHG assessment, climate strategy, product life cycle assessment and ESG reporting.
