Launch of the Global FLOW (FLoating Offshore Wind) Ports Alliance on European western coasts

Three West European ports groups launched the Global FLOW (Floating Offshore Wind) Ports Alliance, a first step to bring together major floating offshore wind ports across the world, announced the ABP (Associated British Ports), one of the founding partners, on 14/11/2025 at Renewable UK’s FLOW Conference in Aberdeen (Scotland).

Partners include the French company Brest Port, in Britanny, as well as Shannon Foynes Port, Ireland’s second largest port operator, before some other ports across Europe join the Alliance.

The partners will collaborate on FLOW port design, standardisation, and best operational practices as they emerge through demonstration projects. The FLOW Ports Alliance also aims to strengthen and accelerate compliant knowledge between ports and share innovations to the benefit of the global FLOW network.
