UK: Rhian Kelly appointed Chief Sustainability Officer of SSE

Rhian Kelly joined SSE as Chief Sustainability Officer on 07/11/2025, announced the British energy company. She previously held the same position at National Grid.Her appointment takes place as SSE advances its role in the clean energy transition.
On 12/11/2025, the company announced a fully financed 5-year investment plan of £33Bn, mainly directed towards British electricity grids.“The clean energy transition presents a huge opportunity, and I am committed to ensuring that its benefits, environmental and social, are felt widely as we continue to grow the business sustainably”, said Rhian Kelly, who succeeds Rachel McEwen.
Rhian Kelly obtained an MA in history and political sciences from the University of Edinburgh in 2000.
