"The launch of the green shipping corridor between HAROPA PORT and Ningbo is the first between a French and a Chinese port, and it is innovative in a number of ways. Our common objective is, of course, to decarbonise our port and maritime activities. As far as our port activities are concerned, the first step is electrification, to eliminate CO2 emissions and fine particles.
Greening ports also means being able to refuel ships with greener fuels, under the right technical and safety conditions: LNG, SMF (Sustainable Maritime Fuels), methanol, e-methanol, hydrogen and ammonia. This dimension, called Port Readiness Level, is part of Green Shipping, and we recently carried out our first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering," Cédric Virciglio, Director of Strategy and Development at HAROPA PORT, told News Tank on 12/11/2025.
