EU: €358M investments across Europe under the LIFE Programme for environment and climate action

A €358M package invested across Europe to support 132 projects, all dedicated to nature, biodiversity, circular economy, climate action and clean energy projects: that is the amount of investments announced by the European Commission in Brussels on 07/11/2025.

The 2024 Call for Proposals of LIFE (EU's funding programme for climate action) had received 895 applications. Successful applicants carried projects across 20 Member States, but also in Iceland and Ukraine. Remote island communities and ecosystems across the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans will also benefit of this funding through French projects.

The investments, financed under the LIFE Programme and managed by CINEA, covered 67% of the total amount of the project investment costs (€536M). The remainder will come from national, regional, and local governments, public-private partnerships, businesses, and civil society organisations.

Overall, these projects aim to help halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030, achieve a climate-neutral Europe by 2050, and ensure sustainable, long-term economic growth.
