FR: 'Science can help us win the battle for environmental health' (Clément Beaune)

"One of the main ways to address environmental damage that affects public health is to strengthen the role of science in public decision-making": this is one of the conclusions of a series of five reports published by the French High Commission for Strategy and Planning on 29/10/2025.

The proposals include stronger governance and scientific knowledge, greater awareness among elected officials, and risk reduction. The report was submitted to the French National Assembly's Committee for the Assessment and Monitoring of Public Policies by Clément Beaune, High Commissioner for Strategy and Planning.
The study examines the following pollution sources and aims to "improve understanding in order to act more effectively":

• pesticides for agricultural use• per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
• noise
• fine particles, including PM2.5
• a fifth report assesses the effectiveness of public policies on environmental health
