Solar PV: 600 MW PPA signed between EDF power solutions and Saudi Electricity Company

600 MW will be the capacity of the Samtah photovoltaic solar power plant in Saudi Arabia, developed under a 25-year PPA signed between EDF power solutions and the Saudi Electricity Company on 29/10/2025. The plant will supply renewable electricity to more than 100,000 households and avoid more than 1.1 Mt/year of CO2 emissions.

"This is a new step in the long-term partnership between EDF power solutions, the Ministry of Energy and Saudi Power Procurement Company. This project illustrates our commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia's renewable energy ambitions, while maintaining high environmental and social standards," says Omar Al-Daweesh, Managing Director of EDF power solutions Saudi Arabia.

The project will be developed, financed, built and operated by a consortium formed by EDF power solutions and Saudi Electricity Company. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2027.
