"The Lilas4Soils EU-funded project aims to promote regenerative agriculture, encourage carbon storage in agricultural soils, and generate data on stored carbon and the tested practices. It focuses on Mediterranean regions. In France, the demonstration sites extend from New Aquitaine to the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Among its objectives is the development and implementation of Living-Labs, which bring together various stakeholders," said Romane Bizieau, European Project Manager at Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation, to News Tank on 28/10/2025.

Launched in 09/2024 by EIT Food, the Lilas4Soils project involves farmers from six countries (France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy and Israel) over a five-year period, during which they commit to implementing carbon capture practices on their farms. The project is funded by the EU for a total of €11M. Romane Bizieau spoke to News Tank about the Lilas4Soils initiative and its timeline, highlighting the role of Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation, which coordinates the French network of participants.
