Agenda of the week: events no to be missed between 20 and 26/10/2025

This week's highlight will be the Council of the Environment Ministers on 21/10/2025 in Luxembourg. Member States Environment Ministers will discuss on adjustment measures on the EU position ahead of COP30, which will take place in Bélem (Brazil) from 10 to 21/11/2025. Others subjects ahead of this Council are the European water resilience strategy, which was adopted by the European Commission in June 2025, as well as the EC’s initiative for the European ocean pact. Furthermore, the Commission will present its annual report on simplification, implementation and enforcement.

The European Council will take place from 23 to 24/10/2025 in Brussels. The heads of States and government of the Member States will focus notably on turning to competitiveness and twin transitions, namely the digital and green transitions.
