FR: MoU between BrestPort and BOA for research into floating offshore wind turbines

To develop solutions for launching floating offshore wind turbines from Brest's port infrastructure: this is the aim of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between BrestPort and the Norwegian company BOA on 06/10/2025, BrestPort reported on 13/10/2025.

The two organisations will carry on studies and assessments of safe, effective and economical methods for launching floats. The work will combine BrestPort's terminal dedicated to marine renewable energy (MRE) and BOA's technical resources, including semi-submersible barges.

The memorandum of understanding provides for the exploration of cost-effective and scalable launching techniques using BOA's floating and fixed resources, the pooling of BrestPort's infrastructure and location with BOA's experience in heavy lifting, semi-submersible units and offshore engineering, and the study of commercial opportunities between the two companies.
