DK / 2,000 jobs cut by the end of 2027 at Ørsted; activities refocused on offshore wind in Europe

Ørsted will cut 2,000 jobs by the end of 2027, the Danish group announced on 09/10/2025.
"This is a necessary consequence of our decision to refocus our activities as well as the fact that we will be finalising our large portfolio of projects under construction over the next few years, which will reduce our staffing requirements. At the same time, we want to create a more efficient and flexible organisation and a more competitive Ørsted, ready to bid for new value-creating offshore wind projects", said Rasmus Errboe, CEO of Ørsted.

The job cuts will take the form of voluntary redundancies, job cuts, divestments, outsourcing and compulsory redundancies. Around 500 employees will be made redundant between now and the end of 2025, including 235 in Denmark.

The Danish group currently employs around 8,000 people worldwide, "a level that corresponds to strong current activity", it says. "By the end of 2027, the organisation will be scaled down in line with the reduction in construction activities.
