FR / Pre-COP 30 meeting: NDCs, 10 years of the Paris Agreement and Action Agenda as key topics

Discussions on NDCs and mitigation targets, taking stock of ten years of the Paris Agreement and looking at ways of developing the Action Agenda, a tool designed to encourage all non-state actors to commit to climate action, are just three of the points that will be discussed at the Pre-COP 30 in Brasilia (Brazil) on 13 and 14/10/2025.

Benoît Faraco, ambassador in charge of climate change negotiations, carbon-free energy, and climate risk prevention , will represent France at this meeting. "The political situation over the next few days will determine whether the minister or another ministerial authority will also represent France", stated the office of Agnès Pannier-Runacher, the resigning Minister for Ecological Transition, Biodiversity, Forestry, the Sea and Fisheries, on 10/10/2025.

The preparatory meeting will bring together representatives from 30 to 40 countries. The meeting will serve as a springboard for future discussions at COP 30, to be held in Belém (Brazil) from 10 to 21/11/2025.

Regarding energy issues, the phase-out of fossil fuels and methane will be among the topics…
