Agenda of the week: events not to be missed between 13 and 19/10/2025

The entire week will be marked by the Ocean Week, initiated and brought by civil society organisations, such as WWF and BirdLife, and the European Union. The events will take place across Europe, particularly in Brussels, where MEPs and members from the European Commission will explore, through a panel, about how future EU funding schemes can be reoriented ‘to support a healthy ocean and a well-being blue economy’ inside the next MFF (Multiannual Financial Frameworl), on 14/10/2025. In France (Paris and Lyon), citizens will be invited to join for clean-up initiatives around the Seine and the Rhône, respectively on 15 at 4PM and 19/10/2025 at 10 AM.

Several other major events will also shape this week on the theme of ocean’s protection, including :

• The International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Marine Environment Protection Committee's second extraordinary session (MEPC/ES.2), will take place in London from 14 to 17 October 2025.
