FR / Heat pump: "A means to restore purchasing power and reduce fuel poverty" (UFE and Afpac)

"Heat pumps help to restore purchasing power to households and reduce fuel poverty. They also make it possible to improve the energy performance of properties, and therefore increase the resale value of real estate", states the note "Giving purchasing power back to households thanks to French heat pumps", published by French associations UFE (Union Française de l'Electricité) and Afpac (Association Française des Pompes à Chaleur) on 07/10/2025.

According to the document, which quotes the Observatoire national de la rénovation énergétique (National observatory of energy efficiency), 4 million single-family homes are equipped with a heat pump in France. In April 2024, the French government announced an action plan to produce 1 million heat pumps in France by 2027.
