LIFE 2025 Call for Proposals: 1095 applications, 22% rise compared to 2024

With 1095 applications submitted, a 22% increase compared to 2024 (895 applications), the 2025 Call for Proposals of LIFE (EU's funding program for climate action), closed on 23/09/2025, has received a record number of applications since its creation in 1992. Consequently, the amount of EU funding requested has increased by 16% over the same period, with a total request of €3.1 Bn (versus €2,7Bn in 2024), for an available previsional budget of €600M.

1095 applications were submitted, all dedicated to nature, environment, climate action and clean energy projects.

•348 submissions were sent towards the LIFE sub-programme on circular economy and quality of lige, requesting €1.862 Bn funding.

•319 submissions were sent towards the LIFE sub-programme on clean energy transition, requesting ;

•168 submissions were sent towards €1.62 Bn to fund the LIFE sub-programme on nature and biodiversity, requesting €1,62 Bn funding;

•260 submissions were sent towards the LIFE sub-programme on climate change mitigation and adaptation, requesting €1.171 Bn funding;
