Green gases: "We must offer regions a vision for the next five or ten years" (S. Gorisse, GRDF)

'We need to be able to offer regions a vision for the next five or ten years, and a master plan for local biogas production and how we can adapt the network. In particular, we need to talk to elected representatives about their regional plans,' said Stéphane Gorisse, Director of Green Gas Development at GRDF, in an interview with News Tank on 6 October 2025. He has held this position since March 2025.
" We need to capture all the available methane in the agricultural sector and promote all methanisation solutions. There are also resources to be captured from wastewater treatment plants that are not yet methanising their sludge and from landfill sites that are flaring or cogenerating. Every single methane molecule must be fed back into the grid."

GRDF is promoting methanisation while also seeking to develop e-methane, hydrogen, and CO₂. "Currently, methanisation plants produce 45% CO₂, 97% of which is pure.
