Main issues expected to be discussed at COP 30 in Bélem (Brazil) are the status of implementation of the Paris Agreement, how to address existing gaps in the mitigation of GHG emissions, the adaptation to climate change, and scaling up the financing gap, in particular regarding the support to developing countries, highlights a study requested by the ENVI Committee published on 01/10/2025.

The study of the Policy Department for Transformation, Innovation, and Health aims to inform the ENVI Committee before the COP30 in Bélem (Brazil), which will take place from 10 to 21/11/2025. 15 Members of the Parliament will attend the COP30, led by Lídia Pereira (Chair, EPP, PT) and Mohammed Chahim (Vice-Chair, S&D, NL). The representative of the European Commission attending will be Wopke Hoekstra, Commissioner for Climate, Net-Zero and Clean Growth.
