'Do not weaken our nature laws': 200.000 citizens' call to Jessika Roswall (WWF & NGOs)

"The citizens have spoken, and the message is very loud and very clear. Almost 200.000 people, in only ten days, participated in a call for feedback, because they care about the EU laws that protect the natural resources, like water and forests, that we all care for, and they are concerned about the attempt to weaken those laws. Our message, their message, is to shift the approach and focus on better implementing and enforcing the regulations", declares Ester Asin, Director of the WWF European Policy Office, at the arrival of the 'Omnibus bus tour' in Brussels on 01/10/2025.

Anaïs Berthier, Director of ClientEarth in Brussels, Faustine Bas-Defossez, Policy Director for Nature, Health and Environment at the European Environmental Bureau, and Ariel Brunner, Director of Birdlife Europe, symbolically handed the call of nearly 200.000 EU citizens to Jessika Roswall, Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience, and a Competitive Circular Economy.
