FR / Moratorium on REs: "False and misleading information" (Sébastien Lecornu, French Prime Minister)

'This information is completely false and misleading. There is no question of going back on our energy ambitions, because decarbonisation is a priority for our sovereignty. We must break free from certain dependencies," declared Sébastien Lecornu, the Prime Minister, in an interview with the French daily newspaper Le Parisien on 26 September 2025.

He was responding to a report published by the French media outlet Contexte on 25 September 2025 indicating that the Prime Minister was preparing to publish the PPE and, at the same time, entrust one or two economists with re-examining the methods of supporting renewable energies. A moratorium on onshore renewable energies would be put in place, meaning that no calls for tenders would be issued pending the conclusions of the mission.
