"We're not out of the woods yet. The situation is going to get even worse. Prices are continuing to rise more than we have seen in the past. The figures currently presented refer to wind farms that have already been connected. The prices of those that are planned are different, particularly for parts and so on, which is putting pressure on the supply chain", says Holger Grubel, Vice President Offshore at EnBW, during the conference "Offshore wind energy: bidding models and financing in France and Germany", organised by Ofate in Paris on 24/09/2025.

EnBW is a German energy company with an installed capacity of around 3 GW. The company is particularly active in the offshore and onshore wind sectors.

" Financing remains a major challenge. Planning predictability is essential. It must be possible to anticipate the cost of financing so that the banks can support the projects. Competition is needed to ensure that the market is not limited to too few players," says Holger Grubel.
