FR / Offshore wind: TotalEnergies and RWE win French tender 8, tender 7 unsuccessful

The Cotentin Energies Marines consortium, made up of TotalEnergies and RWE, has won the "Centre Manche 2" (AO8 / Appel d'Offres 8) offshore wind farm tender, the French government announced on 24/09/2025.

However, "following a strategic review of its investments, RWE has expressed the wish to leave the consortium, subject to the agreement of the French authorities", TotalEnergies said in the wake of the announcement. "In any event, TotalEnergies will continue with the project, assuming all the consortium's commitments, and will propose bringing a new partner into the project", the energy company said.

The 1,500 MW offshore wind farm will be located close to the previous Centre Manche 1 wind project, more than 40 km off the coast, off the Bay of Seine (Normandy). It will generate around 6 TWh/year, to be sold at a price of €66/MWh.

TotalEnergies says it is continuing the necessary studies with a view to a final investment decision (FID) in early 2029. Production is expected to start in 2033.
