EU-US energy meeting: "We don't agree on the role of RE, but we have a lot in common " (D.Jørgensen)

"The purpose of this meeting was first to find out how we can collaborate on putting pressure on Russia by stopping our import of Russian energy. To be able to happen in a way that doesn't lead to an increase in prices and security of supply problems in Europe, we need help from our American friends. We also discussed how to work closer together on nuclear, especially small modular reactors. We don't agree on the role of renewables, despite that, we have a lot of things in common and a lot of areas where we can collaborate and where it is in the European interest that we do so", declares Dan Jørgensen, Commissioner for Energy, after his meeting with Chris Wright, US Energy Secretary for Energy, in Brussels, on 11/09/2025.
