FR /E-mobility: 21.5% increase in registrations in August 2025, "A market driven by enterprises"

25,011 light electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles (passenger cars and commercial vehicles) were registered in France in August 2025, up 21.5% on August 2024, according to the monthly registration barometer published by Avere-France on 09/09/2025.

The breakdown of registrations in August 2025:
• 18,948 light electric vehicles (+31.7% on August 2024);
• 6,063 plug-in hybrid vehicles (-2.1%).

Market share:
• electric cars: 19.3%;
• electric LCVs: 10.6%;
• plug-in hybrid cars: 6.7%.

" E-mobility has survived the summer heatwaves and is showing great resilience. For the eighth month in a row, enterprises are driving the electric market. The return of social leasing in September 2025 was expected to mark the return of household leasing. Let's hope that the resignation of the Bayrou government does not put a stop to this essential acceleration measure", says Clément Molizon, General Delegate of Avere-France.

In 2025, cumulative registrations in France will be down by 8.6% compared with the same period in 2024:
• 205,598 light electric vehicles (-0.5%);
• 64,997 plug-in hybrid vehicles (-27.2%).
