FR / Low Carbon Label: definition and implementation of the new framework (Journal Officiel)

The purpose of Decree no. 2025-917 and the Order of 05/09/2025 issued by the Minister for Ecological Transition, Biodiversity, Forestry, the Sea and Fisheries, published in the Journal Officiel on 07/08/2025, is to define the operating conditions of the Low Carbon label created by the Decree of 28/11/2018, the terms and conditions for awarding this label to projects, the methods for approving methods, and the terms for verifying, transferability, withdrawal and communication of carbon credits.

The framework contains 32 articles. Articles 1 to 5 cover general provisions; articles 6 to 18 deal with the development and approval of methods; articles 19 to 24 cover project labelling; and the remainder are devoted to the verification, transferability, withdrawal and communication procedures for carbon credits.
