Climate neutrality: "Progress in the European agri-food sector is far too slow" (ECNO)

"During the evaluation period, progress towards aligning the European agri-food sector with climate neutrality has remained far too slow. Reductions in the sector's GHG emissions have been limited, and the EU is unlikely to meet its 2030 targets for increasing the area devoted to organic farming and reducing food waste by consumers and industry", is the main finding of the report "EU progress towards climate neutrality", published by ECNO on 03/09/2025.

The analysis is based on 13 transition-fundamental elements, tracking the evolution of nearly 150 indicators over six years, as well as the expected impact of climate-related public policies. The 2025 edition examines the changes through the prism of the EU's broader objectives, namely competitiveness, resilience and citizens' well-being.
