Wind power: 520 MW connected in France during H1 2025; total capacity of 25.4 GW (Sdes)

26 new wind farms, with a total capacity of 520 MW, were connected to the grid in France in the first half of 2025, according to the quarterly "wind energy" scoreboard published by the Sdes (Service des données et études statistiques / Data and statistics service) of the CGDE (Commissariat général au développement durable / French public General Directorate for Sustainable Development) on 29/08/2025. Almost half of these new installations are offshore wind turbines from the EMYN wind farm in Vendée.

In total, the French wind farms had a capacity of 25.4 GW, including 23.6 GW of onshore wind power and 1.8 GW of offshore wind power, as at 30/06/2025. The PPE (Programmation Pluriannuelle de l'Energie / Energy Multiannual Programme) had set a target of 24.1 GW for onshore wind power and 2.4 GW for offshore wind power in mainland France by the end of 2023. For 2028, it sets a target of between 33.2 GW and 34.7 GW for onshore wind power and between 5.2 GW and 6.2 GW for offshore wind power.
