MRE: Eco Wave Power pilot project deployed in the Port of Los Angeles (United States)

Eco Wave Power has installed its wave-powered floats in the port of Los Angeles (USA) as part of its first US project, the Swedish wave energy company announced on 28/07/2025.

This pilot project, supported by Shell's Marine Renewable programme, aims to validate Eco Wave Power's technology in real-life conditions. Environmental impact studies will be carried out in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, as well as material and float durability tests to improve long-term performance. Eco Wave Power also aims to gain experience in the authorisation and permitting processes in the United States. In particular, the company will be working with the US Army Corps of Engineers and local port authorities.

" This pilot isn't just a technology showcase - it's a foundation for full-scale commercialisation in the US," says Inna Braverman, founder and CEO of Eco Wave Power. "With all the floats installed and our energy conversion system being installed, we are proud to demonstrate how existing coastal infrastructure can be used to generate clean, reliable electricity from the waves."
