Fusion: partnership between Assystem and Gauss Fusion for the development of a commercial reactor

Gauss Fusion and Assystem announce a partnership around the future Gauss Giga commercial fusion reactor, 21/07/2025.

the French company Assystem will provide systems engineering expertise for the methodological framework of the design phase, make recommendations to optimise existing processes, support the technological maturation of critical systems and advise the start-up on the introduction of MBSE (model-based systems engineering) tools and methods.

Gauss Fusion is a German start-up founded in 2022 by Alcen, ASG, Bruker, Research Instruments and IDOM, all companies working in the nuclear sector. It is designing a nuclear fusion reactor using magnetic confinement technology, in the form of a stellarator. The start-up plans to commission its Gauss Giga reactor in the early 2040s.
