France / Duplomb Law on agriculture: 1.6 million French people calling for its repeal (petition)

As of 10/07/2025, 1,607,128 French citizens had signed a petition entitled 'No to the Duplomb Law - for health, safety and collective intelligence', posted on the French Assemblée Nationale's petitions website.

The author of the petition, a 23-year student, calls for the immediate repeal of this law, which has been definitively adopted by Parliament, a democratic review of the conditions under which it was adopted, and a public consultation of stakeholders in the fields of health, agriculture, ecology and law.

This petition has been assigned to the Assemblée Nationale's Economic Affairs Committee, which must now appoint a rapporteur who will decide whether to examine the text during a debate or to close the petition. Having collected more than 100,000 signatures, the petition has been published on the Assemblée Nationale website.

As the petition has also exceeded 500,000 signatures from at least 30 overseas departments or collectivities, the Conference of Presidents of the National Assembly may also decide to organise a debate on the text in public session.
