France: energy transition considered an important factor in votes for 87% of citizens (Ipsos, 2025)

87% of French people consider energy transition as a key factor in their votes at city level, according to a recent survey of Ipsos and Villes de France (French Cities) for Idex Observatory (Observatory of energy transition on territories), published on 10/07/2025.

This large proportion can be explained by the worries of French households about their purchasing power : for 72% of respondents, the cost of energy is their main preoccupation about energy. But 52% are also concerned about the consequences of energy consumption on climate change and 24% of the environmental impact of their energy consumption.
