Voltigital, E-Ethylène, Carbon Impact, BRGM, Rainbow: winners of GRDF's call for CO2 projects

Voltigital, E-Ethylène, Carbon Impact, BRGM and Naldeo Technologies & Industries, and Rainbow are the winners of the call for projects launched by GRDF to encourage CO2 sequestration from methanisation, the energy company announced on 11/07/2025.

They will receive a financial support totalling €150,000, technical assistance, institutional support and the opportunity to install a demonstrator on a methanisation site in France for a maximum of two years.

" Biogas contains an average of 40% biogenic CO2. By capturing and sequestering it, we can reduce the concentration of GHG in the atmosphere, generate carbon credits that can be sold on the offset market and increase the environmental benefits of methanisation", states GRDF.

The call for projects was launched at the beginning of 2025. Three criteria were used to select the winners: sequestration technologies, local bioCO2 logistics and the economic value of storage via carbon credits.

Solutions testing should begin as early as 2025.
